I find it ironic that you’d be hard pressed to find an American, let alone a bible thumping version who didn’t pride themselves on being FREE, free of tyranny and of the “wages of sin,” and yet they’ve long used a synonym for freedom - LIBERTY - as a slur for anyone going beyond their set proprieties.

It's like eating food with just a little bit of arsenic on it. You feel like your needs are getting met, especially if you're worried about starving, but you're also slowly dying.

Some people spend so much time and energy trying to manage others' reactions or even potential reactions that they create the very drama they fear!
